HALLOWEEN MOVIES RECOMMENDATIONS

Halloween simply would not be Halloween without the movies that go along with it. So, it’s the perfect time to grab some popcorn and get ready to scream your head off at some of the scariest movies out there. There have been hundreds of horror movies made over the years, it’s hard to know which ones are worth watching but we’ve totally got you covered. Here are the best Halloween movies.

First, we have Trick ‘r Treat, a 2007 American anthology horror comedy film written and directed by Michael Dougherty. It relates four Halloween horror stories with a common element in them: Sam, a mysterious child trick-or-treater who makes an appearance in each of the stories whenever one of the other characters breaks a Halloween tradition. I can't imagine a single horror fan that won't fall head over heels in love with this movie.

The second is Halloween, a movie directed by John Carpenter in 1978. It is one of the best Halloween movies of all time. The plot tells about a mental patient Michael Myers who was committed to a sanatorium for murdering his sister on Halloween night when he was six years old. Fifteen years later, he escapes and returns to his hometown, where he stalks a female babysitter and her friends, while under pursuit by his psychiatrist.

Thirdly, The Addams Family movies, the first and the second. The film is about the eccentric and macabre Addams family whose child, Wednesday, befriends the daughter of a reality show and consequently problems arise. Consider it the perfect viewing for anyone who loves the Halloween mood.

Next, we have Frankenweenie which is a 2012 American 3D stop-motion-animated science fiction comedy-horror movie directed by Tim Burton and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. In the film, a boy named Victor Frankenstein uses the power of electricity to resurrect his dead dog, sparkly but is then blackmailed by his peers into revealing how they can reanimate their own deceased pets and other creatures, resulting in mayhem. Frankenweenie is emotional, funny, and beautifully animated. It’s a must-watch!

Also, Halloweentown (1998), Halloweentown 2: Kalabar’s Revenge (2001), Halloweentown High (2004), and the best of all Return to Halloweentown (2006) are Disney Channel Original Movies. It’s a ‘sine qua non to binge-watch these four movies on a Halloween night.

Last but not least is Coraline, a 2009 American stop-motion animated dark fantasy movie written and directed by Henry Selick. The film tells the story of an adventurous girl Coraline finding an idealized parallel world behind a secret door in her new home, unaware that the alternative world contains a dark and sinister secret. The movie has ranked third at the box office and the third highest-grossing stop-motion film of all time. It is undoubtedly worth watching.
